3rd Space helps a hundred people every day
Our home is the foundation of our wellbeing, safety and sense of belonging. Shelter is a basic human right. Yet, over 116,000 people experience homelessness on any given night in Australia.
3rd Space helps over a hundred community members through the dignity of a hot shower, café style meals as well as access to medical, mental health, law, tenancy, employment, and other services. These services focus on breaking the cycle of homelessness.
Guidance officer - Roxanne Smith
Body dissatisfaction is one of the highest risk factors for the development of disordered eating and eating disorders, and it’s growing among young Australian people.
Just under half of girls aged 15-19 report being extremely or very concerned about body image, with 1 in 2 teenage girls and 1 in 5 teenage boys afraid of gaining weight.
Sadly, eating disorders cause more deaths each year than the national road toll. That’s why it’s so important we reach as many young people as possible and give you the resources to help those you love to develop a kinder relationship with their bodies.
If you, or someone you know, would like to discuss any concerns, our trained counsellors at Butterfly are here for you. We support Australians on their unique journeys through body image issues and eating disorders every day.
Please call the Butterfly National Helpline, which is free and confidential, on 1800 ED HOPE (1800 33 4673), 8am – midnight (AEST), 7 days a week.

P&C 2023 Fete - plans and update
Dear school community
There has been an amazing response to the call out for helpers to plan the Fete. This is what we can tell you so far:
- The Fete is intended to be a community event that builds school connections and forges/strengthens connections to the broader neighbourhood
- The Fete will also be an opportunity for us to fund-raise for things such as improved play/outdoor areas and towards activities that support the inclusion of families and children
- Instead of a single convenor there is a Leadership Group made up of Royce, Daniel, Lyn and Annalisa
- There will be a call-out to all class reps to choose a fete rep/s from the class who will help to coordinate your class contribution
- The theme of the Fete is a Christmas Market with inclusive activities that reflect our school’s diversity
- There will be free activities included so everyone can take part
- The Fete will be on Saturday 11 November 2023 from 3pm-9pm so save the date.
