Parent-Teacher interviews will be held for years Prep to Year 6 on Wednesday 20 July and Thursday 21 July.
Interviews will be of 10 minutes duration.
For these interviews we are using the online booking system called Parent Teacher On-Line (PTO). It saves time for parents, staff and students!
Using this system, you will be able to book the interview times that suit you best from any internet enabled device. PTO also has its own free app for Apple and Android devices. Contact our school office, if you do not have access to a device.
The booking system will be open and live on Wednesday 15 June at 3 p.m. No bookings can be made before this time.
In the next week you will receive a paper slip, from your class teacher, with your student’s EQ ID. You will require this, to log on, when our booking system goes ‘live’. Please keep this slip safe.
Report Cards are being finalised and ready to be sent out in the last week of this term. If you wish to change your email contact details, kindly complete the attached Change of Details Form and email to the office at admin@newfarmss.eq.edu.au by today Wednesday 15 June so that the new contact details will take effect.
If you have any queries, kindly contact Peter Curby via email: admin@newfarmss.ed.edu.au or 07 3358 7333.
AGE APPROPRIATE PEDAGOGIES
Last week our staff accessed professional learning from the Metropolitan Region Principal Advisers regarding Age Appropriate Pedagogies. This approach promotes a range and balance of teaching characteristics and approaches. Our staff enjoyed exploring the pedagogies and sharing their learnings with each other in creative ways. Further information regarding AAP can be found at https://earlychildhood.qld.gov.au/early-years/age-appropriate-pedagogies
TENERIFFE FESTIVAL
Our school received the below email from the festival organisers Immerse Events-
I want to say a HUGE thank you to you and New Farm State School for being a part of the Teneriffe Festival 2022.
The weather could not have been more perfect! It was a massive, incredible day and we had a record number of people with over 25,000 people who attended the festival.
This type of community event is only possible with the support of our partners so thank you for helping us grow the Teneriffe Festival in 2022 into Brisbane's signature street festival.
We have plenty of pictures from the festival and a wrap up video on the way, so keep an eye out for that! We will also be sending out a feedback / questionnaire to all of our partners where we hope you can provide any necessary feedback so that we can continually improve and expand the event.
I want to thank you again for your support in creating a wonderful event and we're counting down the days until the next one.
We look forward to working with you again soon.

Calling all bakers for Tuckshop Bakestall on Wednesday 22 June!
New Farm Tuckshop is holding one of its famous bake stall events. Please donate lollies for lolly bags (any day Tuckshop is open) or bring baked goods such as cupcakes, brownies, cookies and other treats. All items sold at second break for $2.
A plan for the P&C
The P&C spent time together reflecting on a plan for the year and also to make a start on a strategy document that guides in terms of purpose, values and activities. We will be working to engage the school community in providing input to this so that we know our vision and direction reflects school needs and input. This process will also help us prioritise with the school community about school improvements and innovations we can fund raise for.
