Learning Walks
This term, myself, Dr McGrath and Ms Norman have been lucky enough to engage in Learning Walks, around the school. This is an opportunity to visit classrooms during normal lessons and to talk to students about their learning. These Learning Walks are based on the work of renowned Canadian academic Lyn Sharratt.
These visits take a snapshot of what the students are thinking. The questions are framed to capture the students’ feedback at that moment in time.
We ask three randomly chosen students the following:
What are you learning?
How are you doing?
How do you know?
How can you improve?
Where do you go for help?
At a later time, we meet with the classroom teacher, to discuss the responses. This leads to reflection, for the teacher, on the learning intentions, feedback and next steps.
- Classes 2021
A reminder that communication with the school about 2021 class placements, is through the online Schoolzine form. This will provide you with an opportunity to share important information relating to your child’s learning, personality clashes and important family information. Parent input is welcomed, but is not essential.
N.B. Parents cannot request a particular teacher for 2021
Information is treated confidentially
Although we consider all information, there is no guarantee it will be actioned.
Information will only be accepted via this Schoolzine form, until week 2 of term 4.
