From the Principal
Dr Carmel McGrath
Thank you to all parents for continuing to support your children and for working closely with teaching staff while children are learning at home and online. I would like to acknowledge the many families who are persevering with Onenote despite the challenges of family demands, work, curriculum and technology.
Mrs Bradley and I have worked with our Year 6 leaders today to produce a video to again (1) answer some of your frequently asked questions, (2) to share our PBL focus of ‘Being Respectful in Cyberspace’ and (3) announce our students of the week. Link below will be active tomorrow .
Staffing Updates
Term 2 – To support our staff at school while some others work from home, we have some additional teachers: Scott Young and Sonia Ball. These teachers are part of our regular relief and known to our students.
Our HOD (Curriculum) Melinda Norman started with us this term and has come at a very good time, when we really need her knowledge and expertise in online learning and curriculum development. Melinda is working with staff on our Arts Curriculum this year in the background while also assisting year level teams with ensuring consistency of planning and assessment tasks.
Labour Day Holiday – School is closed to all students and staff on Monday 4 May.
Reporting Period
Staff are currently finalising student semester 1 Interim reports. These will be sent home on Friday 1 May. Specialist grades will not be included but if you wish to email the specialist teachers directly, they can provide you with your child’s marks.
2021 Prep Enrolments
We began taking our 2021 Prep Enrolments at the beginning of Term 2 and interviews will be held once we are back into our regular school routines. It is essential that applicants have proof of age (birth certificate or passport) and evidence of primary residency in our catchment. Please refer to our website and look under the Enrolment Tab to find the checklist to ensure you have all the relevant documentation required to proceed your child’s application.
