Class Allocations for 2020
If you have any special considerations, relating to class placements for 2020, please email admin@newfarmss.eq.edu.au before Friday, 18th of October.
A reminder that requests for specific teachers cannot be considered. In addition, as students receive opportunities to nominate friends to be with, we cannot also consider parent requests relating to friendship groups.
In addition, if you do know that your children will not be attending New Farm State School in 2020, please notify the school as soon as possible, in writing to admin@newfarmss.eq.edu.au
Notification is not necessary for current Year 6 students.
Positive Behaviour for Learning
With the launch of our PBL framework and arrival of our mascot ‘Kookie’, we have also implemented some new rewards linked to our Behaviour Expectations. Together with explicit teaching of expectations, these rewards promote the behaviours we expect. By having a consistent system of rewards our students learn that all staff expect and reward the same behaviours.
Whole School Positive Behaviour Rewards
- Individual ‘Kookie’ Tickets - awarded throughout the week and linked to the weekly P.B.L. focus. The class with the biggest weekly total of Kookies is awarded a ‘free play’.
- Class of the Week – a soft toy Kookie visits a class for one week. This class is nominated by staff, for displaying exemplary behaviour around the school.
- House Award – awarded to the House with the most Kookies, collected over a term. The winning house receives a ‘free dress’ day.
