Class Allocations for 2020
As we head toward the end of term three we begin to make plans for 2020. If you have any special considerations, relating to class placements for 2020, please email admin@newfarmss.eq.edu.au before Friday, 11th of October.
A reminder that requests for specific teachers cannot be considered. In addition, as students receive opportunities to nominate friends to be with, we cannot also consider parent requests relating to friendship groups.
We would also encourage parents not to promise their children that a certain request will be met, as this can set children up to feel negative about a teacher or peer group before the year begins.
In addition, if you do know that your children will not be attending New Farm State School in 2020, please notify the school as soon as possible, in writing to admin@newfarmss.eq.edu.au
Notification is not necessary for current Year 6 students.
- Canberra
Our annual Canberra Camp took place last week and was a huge success. The students visited a number of important sites relating to their Civics and Citizenship work including the War Memorial and Parliament House and enjoyed some ‘down time’ at I Play and Questacon. Student also were able to see the High Court in action, which was an unexpected highlight for some.
Thank you to Mr Rafter, Ms Zayn Al-Abidin, Mr Lawrence and Mrs Siebuhr who gave up their week to facilitate this camp.
