Under 8s
This Friday Prep, Year 1 and 2 classes will be involved in our Under 8s celebration. This is a wonderful way to conclude the term. As rainy weather is predicted, staff will arrange an alternative ‘wet weather’ program just in case.
Friday’s program will run from 9 – 10:30am. While the activities are planned to flow across the school, including Little Farm, Oval, Netball courts and Hall, there may be some adjustments for a wet weather program.
Parents, Grandparents and Carers are welcome to attend and help out on the morning. Teachers and students would love to see you there, so please see your child’s teacher if you are willing to help out with an activity.
Staffing Updates
Term 2 – 3 - Deputy Principal Mrs Kay Bradley will be on long service leave from tomorrow until Term 3 end of week 2 , with Curriculum Coordinator Mrs Rachael Siebuhr taking on the Acting DP role during this period.
Term 3 – HPE teacher Mr Kent Rainbow is on leave for approximately 6-8 weeks in Term 3, with HPE teacher Ms Eliza Horn replacing him.
Term 3 – Ms Jenny O’Neill has extended her leave and we are currently recruiting a Special Needs teacher for this contract. I will keep you informed as we finalise the process. In the interim Mr Young is backfilling the role. Ms Bradley / Ms Siebhur will coordinate Mr Young’s program to ensure regular support continues for all students.
Typing Club Start Up
Just a reminder that our Year 2-6 to our Typing Club will start up again in Term 3 each Tuesday 8:15 – 8:45am in the school lab A Block. Typing skills are becoming more important for students to master and this is a great way to have a little extra practice.
School Uniforms
Unfortunately we are starting to see a number of multi-coloured jumpers and jackets being worn by students. Please ensure your child has a correct school jumper with their name clearly labelled. If your child’s jumper has been discarded at playtime as the weather warms, it may likely be in the ‘lost property’ area under the STEM annex of A Block.
New Building Move
This week Year 4 / 5 F, 4W, 5R and 5C move into T Block, the new double storey building on Heal Street. The facilities are well equipped with new furniture expected to arrive soon. Year 3 D will move to A Block and be positioned on the second floor with other Year 3 classes. Thank you to Yvonne and Tony for all their help with the coordination of the moving contractors today.
Oval Upgrade
Students and families are now enjoying the upgrades to our oval. Thanks to the state government grant for the upgrade of our grounds and play space, we have a more functional and inviting area.
