Incursions and Excursions

It’s been an exciting and hands-on week across the school, with both incursions and excursions!

Prep students were delighted by a live performance from Renata, enjoying music and movement in a fun and engaging show that explored rhyme.

Year 1 students took part in an exciting Street Science incursion, where they explored scientific concepts, including the forces of push and pull, and had a blast building their own rockets.

Year 2 participated in an engaging geography-based incursion, It’s a Small World, learning how all parts of the world and its cultures are connected and important.

Year 4 ventured out to the Moreton Bay Environmental Education Centre for the First Contacts program, which builds understanding about the arrival of the First Fleet and the first contact with First Nations People. A highlight came from one student who shared that their favourite part was throwing spears!

Meanwhile, our Year 6 students have been actively participating in Learning Walks this week, deepening their understanding through real-world observations of sculptures along the river and exploring how community spaces are used and maintained.

It’s been a fantastic week of exploration and discovery across all year levels! Coming up, Year 3 and Year 5 will be heading out on excursions to Bunyaville Conservation Park and the Buddhist temple in Priestdale.

Homework review

Thank you to all the parents who took the time to share their thoughts and feedback during our recent conversation about the homework policy. Your input is greatly valued and plays an important role in shaping a supportive and effective learning environment for our students. Our teaching team is currently working on refreshing the messaging and clarifying expectations around homework for all parties, and we will continue to keep you informed as this work progresses.
