Hello, my name is Pauline Holness and I am delighted to have joined New Farm State School as the Head of Special Education Services (HOSES). Throughout the first week, I’ve received a warm and friendly welcome from both staff and students, which has made my transition into the school community a truly positive experience.

While I’m in the process of familiarising myself with the school processes, I am keen to make contact with as many members of the community as possible. With families and schools working in partnership, our students will thrive academically, socially and emotionally in an inclusive and supportive environment.

In Week 3, I will be attending the Year 5 camp. This will provide me an opportunity to get to know many of our students in a very different setting.

Then, coming up in Week 4, Kahli McLeod and myself will hold our consultation meetings. This is an opportunity for parents and teachers to discuss adjustments that are required to enable students who we support to access and participate alongside their peers.

I’m looking forward to many more opportunities over the term to communicate and work with the New Farm community.
