From the Principal
Principal - Dr Carmel McGrath
Meeting with Minister Grace Grace
Last week our P&C President David Armstrong, Vice President Janelle Moody, Treasurer Belinda Hill, School Captains Lottie and Nate and I will attend a BBQ at Parliament House with other city cluster school P&C and school leaders. It was a lovely opportunity for our student leaders to talk with other School Captains and for our P&C to meet with Minister Grace Grace.
We also spoke with Sharyn Barker, newly appointed principal for the Inner City Secondary School (on the old Fortitude Valley State School site). Sharyn will be visiting us this week again – before assembly with parents and after assembly with our Year 4 and 5 students.

Master Plan Meeting
Next week our School Executive and P&C representatives will meet with our Master Plan architects for a final review of plans. The plans have been developed and reflect the feedback from the community consultation earlier this term.

Remembrance Day
This year Remembrance Day falls on the weekend, Sunday 11 November, and marks the centenary of the Armistice. This week our school will take time on Friday 09 November to pause for a minutes silence in honour of all Australians who have served and lost their lives in the line of duty since the First World War.
World Teachers’ Day
This Friday we will celebrate World Teachers’ Day, a little belated due to Gala Day commitments. Thank you to our Teacher Aides for organising a lovely morning tea for our teachers and to all our students and families for acknowledging the dedication and professionalism of our teaching staff.
We would like to say a big "THANK YOU" to our Tuckshop staff and volunteers.
