Trivia Night
Trivia Night was another spectacular success with a great crowd, colourful costumes and plenty of fun had by all. I am so grateful to our P&C members, Natalie Chin who organised the event and to some of our key helpers on the night Lyne Moore, Fiona Caniglia and George Gallantree, who were amazing with sales and sponsors. To all the other many parent helpers who volunteered and also helped out on the night by serving dinner, working at the bar and baking for the night – Thank you! We had absolutely amazing community atmosphere and support for our school.
Staffing Update
We are pleased to announce Pauline Holness has now been appointed as our Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) beginning Term 3. Pauline comes to us with many years' experience in inclusion and learning support roles and is excited to join New Farm State School. A huge thanks to Ms McLeod for her professional work during her time undertaking the Acting HOSES role.
Sports Days
Thank you to Mr Rainbow, Mrs Bradley and all staff who helped organise and facilitate the track and field events for this year. It was once again held at Windsor sports fields and was an amazing day for all. Congratulations to the winning Sports House Binkinba for their efforts and wonderful sportsmanship. Binkinba Captains, Oscar and Aspen spoke very well at last week’s assembly, congratulating both Merthyr and Teneriffe houses for their competitiveness and participation. A huge thanks goes to the many parent helpers who volunteered on the day. Students and staff supported their Houses by proudly wearing their respective Colours and showing excellent participation and sportsmanship.

I encourage any families with prep aged children to submit their enrolments as soon as possible as this year we hope to conduct the majority of interviews in Term 2 & 3. This is an essential part of predicting student numbers, allocating staffing and forming classes for 2026. Other prep transition elements will include:
Enrolment night - September 3rd - 5-6pm. We warmly invite all prospective 2026 Prep parents and families interested in joining the New Farm State School community to attend our Enrolment Night.
Prep Open Morning - Friday 17th October - An informative morning where 2026 Prep families can meet our wonderful teachers, explore the classrooms, and get a feel for the exciting year ahead.
