Celebrating Science Week with QUT Sports Tech Van

This week, our school has been buzzing with excitement as we celebrate Science Week with a range of engaging and educational activities. A highlight of the week was the visit from the QUT Sports Tech Van, which provided our Years 4 to 6 students with an immersive experience that combined the thrill of sports with the wonders of science.

Students had the opportunity to test their speed, walking, jumping, reactions, and agility, all while collecting data and delving into the science behind their physical activities. The hands-on experience not only engaged the students but also sparked fantastic classroom discussions about the role of science in sports and daily life.

We extend our thanks to Rachel Frizzo and Huw Davies for their efforts in organizing this event, and a big thank you to QUT for bringing this unique learning experience to our school. The incursion was a resounding success, with both students and teachers expressing their enthusiasm for the activities.

In addition to the Sports Tech Van visit, our Science Week celebrations have featured an immersive sound and light experience in the library, where students have been transported into the natural world through captivating documentaries. Green screen activities have allowed students to explore their creativity while learning about different environments.

The excitement continues with science experiments in the classroom, a science show from Mad About Science on Thursday, and a Science Expo on Friday. It's been a week filled with curiosity, discovery, and an appreciation for the wonders of science.
