Formation of Classes 2025

This term, we will begin the process of forming classes for 2025. This involves gathering information from teachers, students and parents.

You are invited to share some information relating to your child’s learning and any particular personality clashes that you would like us to consider, in forming classes.  Parent voice in this process, does not include requesting certain friends or particular teachers.

Please use this link if you have important information to share, as this will ensure your information is captured. Conversations or emails with class teachers may not be passed on. Use this link to begin the survey.

This link will remain live until the beginning of term 4.

As always when classes are formed, they remain in draft until day 8 of 2025 when our staffing numbers are confirmed by Education Queensland.

Bullying No Way: National Week of Action

Bullying No Way Week, 12 to 16 August 2024, is Australia’s key bullying prevention initiative and connects schools and communities to find workable solutions to prevent bullying.

The theme for 2024 is 'Everyone belongs'.

When we all feel like we belong, bullying struggles to find a place. It's about embracing who we are, respecting everyone's differences and standing up together against unkindness.

This term, our Second Step School Wide Program has been focused on Bullying Prevention and this week all classes will be reviewing the content: Recognising, Responding and Refusing Bullying. The program also teaches students the power of bystanders.

We encourage our students to report bullying to their class teacher or myself.  If we receive a report, we then follow a process of investigation, reporting, consequences and planning.  At New Farm, we use Australian schools’ bullying definition:

Bullying is an ongoing misuse of power in relationships through repeated verbal, physical and/or social behaviour that causes physical and/or psychological harm. It can involve an individual or a group misusing their power over one or more persons. Bullying can happen in person or online, and it can be obvious (overt) or hidden (covert). Bullying of any form or for any reason can have long-term effects on those involved, including bystanders. Single incidents and conflict or fights between equals, whether in person or online, are not defined as bullying.
