Term Drills

We have completed both our term Lockdown and Evacuation Drills ensuring all staff, students and visitors on our site are familiar with procedures for emergency drills in our new facilities. Thank you to teachers for their efficiency with the drills.

Staffing Update

Congratulations to Kay Bradley for her upcoming Acting Principal at Bardon State School, period 22 Aug – 15 Sept.  I have appointed Mel Norman as Acting Deputy Principal during this period and Tracy Baker will be in additional support role re Well-Being and Engagement.  I am pleased to have also appointed both Marysa De Silva and Deb Joynson permanently to our school. 

City Collective Schools – Student Leadership Project

Thank you to Ms Zayn Al Abidin for supporting our year 6 student project leaders, Azalea, Bodiel, Henry and Amira, as they participated in the City Collective Schools’ annual Legacy Project.  Student are supported by Year 11 Kelvin Grove SHS students Kunga and Estella.  This year’s New Farm student senior legacy project is an early Brisbane River mosaic mural which will be developed and created in the garden near the oval. 

School Review

Our full school review will be held Monday 28 – Wednesday 30 August.  During this period our 3 reviewers will visit the school and take time to speak with staff, P&C groups, parents, student leaders and other community and school leaders with whom we work.  You may see our review team out and about during these days, so please feel free to speak with them.  The findings of the review will guide our strategic planning for the next 4 years.
