2019 Brisbane City Cluster High Achievers Program
The Brisbane City Cluster High Achievers Program involves over 300 students in Years 5 and 6 from the Brisbane City Cluster of Schools. The High Achievers Program is part of the Brisbane City Cluster Academic Alliance.
This year, Kelvin Grove State College will be offering the programs from 8 May to 12 June 2019. Students will attend the program for 6 weeks from 1:15pm-2:30pm on Wednesdays. A Parent Information Evening will be held at Kelvin Grove State College on 1 May at 6:00pm-8:00pm.
The programs offered in 2019 include English, Maths, Science, Digital Technologies - DigiSpace, Drama, Visual Art – Photogram and Visual Art - Timetraveller. The cost of the program is $130. This does not include the cost of transport.
New Farm State School has been allocated 16 places across year 5 and 6. This allocation is based on our school’s enrolment and ensures an equitable access to the program for all 14 schools within the city cluster. Selection will be based on NAPLAN results, Report Card information and teacher recommendation.
Kelvin Grove College will notify schools of their successful student applicants on Friday 15 March. I will notify NFSS students and their parents by Thursday 21 March.
