Inclusion Pillar

This week a number of staff are attending Queensland Association of Special Education Leaders conference.  This conference focuses on creating connections among schools and opportunities to showcase excellent practices in Inclusive education.  Over the 3 days of the conference 8 of our staff will participate in a range of practical workshops to enhance their knowledge and gain ideas to implement across our whole school community.

100 Days Of School Celebration

Congratulations to our Preppies for reaching their first 100 days of schooling.  It was such a fun day for the students Tuesday as teachers and teacher aides organised a range of hands on activities to celebrate the 100 day milestone.  Thank you to Ms Burridge, Ms Navarro, Mr Nash and Ms Dunne. 

Year 5 Emu Gully Camp

Last week with some very cold weather our Year 5 students headed off to the annual adventure camp near Gatton.  This is a fabulous outdoor camp with some challenging team and individual activities.  The students should be commended for their excellent behaviour and team spirit.  Thank you to Mr Lawrence, Mrs Baker, Mr Fleming and Ms McLeod for supporting the students during the camp and spending time away from their own families. 

Staff Update

Ensuring we have adequate levels of staff for our classes has been particularly challenging this term with high incidents of illness.  As this is also happening for all the inner-city schools, it has impacted on sourcing relief staff.  I appreciate your patience and understanding with the ongoing changes in staffing.  We are doing everything in our power to ensure continuity of curriculum delivery and maintaining good routines for our students.

Health

As a state school we follow directives from Education Queensland and ultimately Queensland Health.  The main query I continue to get from parents is about the wearing of masks.  Following is directing from our recent advice to schools:
