Creative Generation

It is wonderful to see our students participating in this year’s Education Queensland Creative Generation Extravaganza.  Ms Davis, Ms Kennedy, Ms Nav and Ms Eurell are supporting students and parents with dance practices on weekends in preparation for the culminating event being held term 3 week 1. 

Teneriffe Festival

Mrs Loudon is coordinating our student performances for this year’s Teneriffe Festival on Saturday 28^th May.  Festival Chairman Michael Wilkson spoke to students on a assembly this morning to tell them about the history of the festival and encouraged all families to attend this year’s festival.  We proudly have around 100 students performing in various groups. 

NAPLAN

Congratulations to our Year 3 and 5 students who completed their NAPLAN over the past fortnight.  Thank you to parents and staff for supporting students during this period.  It can be a new experience especially for our Year 3 students who likely have not undertaken work in exam-like conditions.  Thank you to Mr Curby for coordinating this year’s NAPLAN; very much appreciated.

What is National Reconciliation Week?

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The dates for NRW remain the same each year; 27 May to 3 June. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey— the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.

Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
