P&C Notice

Building a register of volunteers and ensuring helpers for the tuckshop

We know our school community is diverse and  talented. Please consider registering as a volunteer using this form and tell us how you can help. It can be as little or as much as you want. It will only take two-three minutes to complete.

Helping out on Polling Day 21 May 2022: Cake and Sweets' Stall donations and help with the BBQ

The Lions' Club will be helping with a BBQ on Polling Day and we are calling on school families to donate baked goods and lollies for a Cake and Sweets Stall. You can help by donating lollies for lolly bags or by making cakes and sweets. We will also need helpers on the day serving, setting up and packing up from 7am-1pm.

Please let us know if you can help at this link. Donations can be dropped off from 2.30pm on Friday 20 May or early Saturday morning on polling day.

Tuckshop is open for Prep- year 6 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Orders close at 9am and are all online through flexi-schools.

AGM Update

There was fantastic participation in the New Farm State School P&C AGM.  Over 40 members signed-up!  Importantly all key positions were filled and the new committee consists of:

Lyne Moore as Secretary

Dahna Gallantree as Treasurer

Tania Shapiro as Vice President

Fiona Caniglia as President.

Thank you to the P&C Executive

The outgoing P&C Executive has done an amazing job weathering two years of COVID with significantly reduced opportunities to gather the school community and raise funds for key school improvements. As we start to emerge more and more, we will take the foundations they have laid for us this year and work with the whole P&C and school  to bring forward opportunities to get together, build our school community and have fun. On behalf of the new committee we thank Louise and the P&C Executive for the huge responsibility they have shouldered.  There will be more opportunities to recognise their efforts as we find our feet as the new Executive over the coming weeks.

Next steps for the P&C

Our next steps include:

  1. Careful handover from the outgoing committee to ensure a smooth transition
  2. Pinning down each sub-committee and its membership (we are already part of the way there)
  3. Planning for fund-raising fun on election day at the school polling booth
  4. Helping the Swim Club prepare early for a bumper term in Term 3
  5. Getting regular communications out to the school about how they can connect with the P&C and get involved (a little or a lot)
  6. Building a register of volunteers from across the school so we know who can help and how
  7. Making sure the Tuckshop's transition to the new convenor succeeds and we have enough volunteers.

The next P&C meeting
