Safe and Respectful School Communities
Your child, our student. One team.
We all deserve respectful, safe and non-violent environments, so aggression and harassment of any kind—physical, verbal or otherwise—isn't acceptable.
When you interact with school staff, remember we're all on the same team to support your child. We all have your child's best interests at heart, and the best way to achieve a positive learning experience is to work together.
Safe and respectful school communities campaign
The department launched the Safe and respectful school communities campaign with videos and resources to highlight occupational violence in schools and encourage positive communication and collaboration between parents, carers and schools.
Schools are not only learning places, but workplaces where school staff have the right to feel safe and respected. This campaign outlines the importance of safe and respectful partnerships between parents, carers and school staff.
It’s important to remember we’re all on the same team and by working together, we can all contribute to positive student outcomes.
The Safe and respectful school communities campaign commenced in 2021 and is aimed at Queensland parents and carers of primary and secondary school aged children.
