News from the Community and Charity Project Group
The Community and Charity Project group are thrilled with the support of the school community in donating food and toiletry items for Hampers for the Homeless. A special thanks to New Farm Deli, IGA New Farm and Coles New Farm for donating boxes and bags in which to make the hampers. A special thanks also to Terry White Chemmart at Coorparoo for a full box of donated toiletry items. A special mention to the two Captains Ava Hering and Addison Ryan and their mothers Lise and Bianca for working to move the donated hampers across to Queensland Shelter. A special thanks also to those who assisted with the collecting and sorting, Tony Ware and Mrs El-Fatah, to Hazel Hansen Gahan for showing particular initiative in this project, to Fiona Caniglia for being the contact person at Q Shelter and of course to the project members who manned to collection post each morning before school. We hope New Farm State School can contribute to the effort assisting homelessness in Brisbane. – Miss Zayn al-Abidin
