Playground Behaviour

Last week at assembly, I spoke to all the students about respectful playground behaviour. This follows some disappointing behaviour particularly relating to handball games.  I have spoken to individual students and to particular year levels.  Teachers have been emphasising our behaviour expectations and consequences, in particular around:

Respecting other students’ property and games.

Being aware of the rules before starting to play.

In relation to handball:

If a student hits or kicks the ball out of play they will have to retrieve it and sit out of play.

If a student can’t retrieve the ball, he/she will have to replace it.

If an ‘out’ call is made a player should respect the rules and if there is a dispute the majority decision will be upheld.

Students deliberately ruining games will be referred to Admin and will receive follow up consequences.

Teachers on duty will continue to actively supervise the playground.
