GarageBand

Students in 4C and 5B proudly shared their amazing musical talents using GarageBand this week. It is wonderful to see the excitement in the students as they play their individual pieces. Well done to Miss Davis for supporting students to integrate technologies into the Music curriculum. Great creative work everyone!

3T’s Information Reports

It was delightful to visit 3T this week to see the wonderful Information Reports students are creating relating to bees. They have even created wonderful colourful bees to decorate our garden.

Did you know we have our very own stingless bee hive at New Farm State School?

Our stingless beehive is located in our edible garden, opposite the hall. Come and take a look, but please take care not to disturb these "true blue" Australian bees!

Stingless bees, sometimes called stingless honey bees or simply meliponines, are a large group of bees, comprising the tribe Meliponini. They belong in the family Apidae, and are closely related to common honey bees, carpenter bees, orchid bees, and bumblebees.

Badminton Fun!

Florence in Prep E challenged Mr Ramos to a game of badminton this week. It is great to see our students using the outdoor equipment available during playtime and even encouraging our teachers to have a go too.

Prep E’s Book Creator

Prep students have been integrating technologies into the curriculum using Book Creator with some fabulous results!

Ayla has created her very own take on The Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. She included her voice into her work with incredible expression and her images were fantastic. I was blown away by her outstanding work. Well done Ayla!

Proof Reading and Editing

All of our NFSS students have been working on their proof reading and editing skills this year during Daily Proof Reading sessions. These brief sessions (up to 15 minutes) are regularly provided each week with a particular focus on handwriting, punctuation, grammar and spelling during this time.
