ANZAC Day author visit – Vicki Bennett
Author Vicki Bennett will be visiting the school in term 2, week 1 on the 20th April 2021 to talk to Year 2, 3 and 4 students about her new book, The Flying Angel.
‘A group of nurses are handpicked to rescue injured soldiers from the frontline of Papua New Guinea WW2, and transport them safely back home to Australia. Known for their courage and compassion, the soldiers call them the Flying Angels. A story inspired by the life of one remarkable nurse, Sister Marie Eileen Craig.’
She will also be sharing The Little Stowaway.
‘On a freezing cold Christmas night in 1918, a little French orphan came out of the fog and wandered into an Australian airmen's mess. With an uncertain past and an extraordinary future, this solitary boy’s journey stands as a shining example of the love between Australian and France.’
If you would like to purchase her books online before the author visit, students can bring them to the author visit for a signature from the author!
