We are very excited to welcome all our 2021 students to term 1. Most of our students had an opportunity to meet their new teacher in the last week of 2020, or at our open morning this week.
With our Master Building project underway at the back of the school, we now have fewer exit and entry points and only one drop off/pick up zone. The area around the school has very few parking spots and with the construction vehicles around the area, we are expecting congestion.
The following arrangements will be in place from day 1:
Heal Street has strict no parking rules before and after school (see below). It is imperative that parents using this zone are not impeded by parked cars. If you are using this zone please stay in your car as it will ensure the flow of traffic.
If you wish to get out of the car to fix hair, tie shoelaces, help with school bags and give last minute hugs then this zone is not for you.
Prep students can be dropped at their classroom on the first day.
Playground supervision for yr 1-6 will be provided from 8.30 a.m. Any children arriving before then should be directly supervised by parents or in Jabiru.
The adventure playground is out of bounds before and after school, to all students; with or without parent supervision.
All adults on the school grounds should maintain social distancing.
At 8.45 a.m. children should move to classrooms and the roll will be taken at 9 a.m. We ask that parents leave the school grounds at this point. N.B. On day 1 students will not be marked late if they arrive up to 9.00 a.m.
At 2.45p.m. Prep students can be collected from their classroom. We ask that Prep parents, without older students, leave the school grounds before 3 p.m.
At 3.00 p.m. Yr 1-6 students will be released from class and the pick-up zone, in Heal Street, will be in operation. Parents should display their name, provided after Look Out Registration, on their windscreen. This really helps keep things moving along.
If your child is not immediately ready for pick up you will asked to drive around the block.
The two gates on Heal Street nearest James Street will be for pick up students only. Pedestrians will be able to use the oval gates on Heal Street, the gate from the oval onto Beeston St, gate beside the hall with the stairs onto James Street.
How can you help?

- Stay in your car in the drop off/pick up zone.
- Arrive early if you are a Prep parent.
- Use the Pedestrian gates, indicated above
- Leave the school grounds promptly
- Ensure your children are not on the adventure playground before or after school.
