Instrumental Music Gala Performances
Our annual instrumental music afternoon was held on Sunday 24 Nov from 2-4pm in our school A huge thank you to Colin McIntyre and Chris Chapman for the marvellous work they have done this year in encouraging a love of music and in developing the musical performance skills of our young students. I would also like to acknowledge and thank the very generous and musically talented Dan Quigley who kindly volunteered his time and expertise to our school so that the Junior Band had weekly lessons. I look forward to seeing a wonderful crowd supporting the students on Sunday.

NFSS P&C
"After a fun and busy year, we have 3 members of our P&C retiring in 2020. The role of Treasurer and Secretary will be available at our AGM in March 2020 and the role of Swimming Club Co-ordinator is available from Jan 2020. The incumbents in these 3 roles will be available to do a full handover and assist the incoming Treasurer, Secretary and Swim-Club Co-ordinator. These roles can all be shared by two people as well.
Our P&C representative on the PBL Committee is also retiring and we are looking for a parent to join the committee, which meets every 3 weeks on Tuesday at 3:15 p.m. during the term for 45 minutes.
Please contact secretary@nfsspandc.com.au if you are interested and would like any further information."
Swimming Carnivals - important information
Wednesday 4 December and Friday 6 December are our Inter-house Swim Carnival Days!
Wednesday 4 December
Prep and Year 1 (morning session)
Year 2 and Year 3 (Middle session till 2.30pm)
Friday 6 December – Year 4 to 6 (all day)
We look forward to a great time as usual, full of house spirit, friendly competition in the strokes and fun races mixed in there too.
To help your child be prepared for the day can you please remember the following:
- House colours are encouraged to be worn
- A swimming cap, sun-safe rash vest, sunscreen, water bottle, school hat, towel and their own goggles are required.
- It is a participation carnival and students are expected to swim in all events they are capable of.
Please note:
It is a student only event, as since our numbers and pool area size do not cater for extra spectators we ask parents and carers do not attend unless volunteer roles have been given. There are numerous adults already organised for the Junior Carnival to assist less strong swimmers in the lower year levels.
2019 Semester 2 Report Cards
You will be receiving your student/s Report Card/s via this email address during the last week of Term 4.
We will send a Test email in the next couple of weeks.
If you wish to change your email contact details, kindly complete the attached Change of Details Form and email to the office at admin@newfarmss.eq.edu.au by Tuesday 26 November 2019 so that the new contact details will take effect.
Returning in 2020
If your student is NOT returning to NFSS in 2020, can you please email the Students name, class and destination (if known) to admin@newfarmss.eq.edu.au

Collection of Medication
As we unable to store any student medication over the summer holidays, all medication currently held at school in first aid or classrooms is required to be collected and signed out before 3 p.m. on Friday the 13th of December or on the last day of your student’s attendance
As most students require to have their medication on site with them, collection should be between 2.30 and 3.00 p.m.
If you are unable to collect your child’s medication in person, please contact first aid to make alternative arrangements.
- Before School Play
From 8.30 – 8.45 a.m. students will now be able to play under the buildings. The adventure playground, memorial area and in front of 1/2N and 1F remain out of bounds.
P.B.L. FOCUS OF THE WEEK
Be Safe
Remember that the toilets are a ‘game free’ zone.
