City Cluster Leadership Project
This week, it was my pleasure to attend the City Cluster Leadership Showcase Event. Year 6 students from across our district have been working on a legacy project with teachers and high school mentors. Our students, led by Ms Zayn Al-Abidin, presented their project which will be a Kookaburra signpost for our new building. Our New Farm team shared their leadership journey, including the challenges they encountered. I’m very proud of the work they have done and would like to thank Ms Zayn Al-Abidin for her guidance with this project.
Oval Behaviour
Unfortunately, I have received another report from one of our neighbours, on Heal Street. A photograph has been sent to me of some of the obstacles, including rocks, that have been thrown over the fence hitting their glass doors. I have spoken to all our students at assembly and to all staff, including Jabiru, about increased supervision in this area. I would appreciate you reminding your child/children about how dangerous and disrespectful this type of behaviour is.
2022 BYO iPad Program
We are excited to inform families that in 2022 we are upgrading our BYO iPad program and inviting students from Years 3 to 6 to bring their iPad from home. Classroom teachers and I recently met with Parent Reps from Years 2 and 3 to unpack the program. With much enthusiasm we all look forward to progressing with the program.
We are inviting one parent/carer from each Year 2 or 3 student’s household to attend an information session in the hall on Tuesday the 26th of October at 6pm. In the session you will hear from school leaders, classroom teachers and students. You will also be provided with some hands-on opportunities to use our school iPads.
Please click the link below to register for the event.

Between now and the 26th of October we will be upgrading our iPad Setup Guide and Information Booklet. JB-HiFi Education Solutions are also updating their portal to provide New Farm families access to cheaper iPads and accessories.
I look forward to seeing you on the night.
Dash Robots
Our Year 4 and 5 iAssistants have been busy learning about our latest school robots. Dash robots have smart and curious minds. Their personalities come alive with animations, sounds, and lights to engage student’s creativity. The robots come equipped with speakers, sensors, microphones, lights, and motors that allow students to explore the world of robotics in a creative and interactive way.
