Year 3 – 6 Athletics:
Field Event Friday 16th of July
Due to the current restrictions in place from the Queensland Government we are unable to accommodate any spectators or parents. Permssion required for student participation, please see class dojo.
Track Event Friday the 23rd of July
Our annual athletics day for yr3-6 cannot be held at school as the oval is not large enough for a running track. We will not be able to mark the field of our usual venue, New Farm Soccer club, at New Farm Park. Although this is disappointing, Mr Rainbow has been able to secure an alternative venue at Windsor Park, 44 Grafton Street in Windsor.
We will be transporting all yr3-6 students by bus, departing from New Farm School and returning to school at the end of the event. You will receive a printed permission form today and we would appreciate its return as soon as possible. The cost of the bus will be approximately $11 which you will be invoiced for via schoolzine.
N.B. this only applies to students in year 3 – 6.
Winter Uniform
A reminder that during cooler months, a school jumper is part of our uniform. Other jackets, sweatshirts, vests can be worn to and from school but need to be swapped for the uniform jumper, when at school. Each class has access to washed ‘pre- loved’ jumpers, for students to borrow if they forget their school jumper.
Covid Restrictions
Thanks to all our community for following the current health guidelines, especially those relating to mask wearing when visiting school. Hopefully, these will be lifted on Friday the 16th of July.
Early Year Community Network Meeting
We are excited to announce that Ms Loudon will be presenting at the Early Year Community Network Meeting on the 5th of August. This is a great opportunity to hear about the wonderful work being done at New Farm State School, in the sphere of inclusion. Please pass the information, in the attached flyer, on to anyone you know who might be interested in attending. Ms McLeod from Prep M, will also be attending to answer questions, about preparation for Prep. Thanks to both staff members for giving up their time, for this important community event.
From the Head of Department (Curriculum)
Melinda Norman
Community Network Workshop to be held at Community Place, Newstead on Aug 5th 6:30pm – 7:30pm.
The theme of the workshop is inclusion and will be presented by our very own Inclusion Coach, Judy Loudon.
‘The Inclusive Mindset’. Inclusion seen as a universal human right. The aim of inclusion is to embrace all people, but what does this really mean for your child?
Kahli McLoed will also be in attendance to answer any questions about preparing children for school.
